Comic Categories

The following are the current categories webcomic sites can be listed under. Since the listing does not include a rating system based upon a comic's "maturity", members of the list with comics containing subject matter that would not be suitable for a younger crowd are expected to use their best discernment in the matter, and state as such in their comic's description. In addition, any comic containing explicit pornographic material will be purged from the listing! While erotica is still accepted, again, please use your best judgment when submitting a comic to the list. We currently have 8 different categories to choose from. You may only submit your own comic!
  • Adventure:
A comic with Adventure being the primary focus, is one where the characters embark on epic journeys, grow through their various alliances, and move through the plotline in an exploratory fashion. These comics may be driven by action and danger! A plot with many twists and turns, that puts the characters in a medley of different situations.
  • Comedy:
Comics that are found primarily comical, or humorous are listed under this category. These comics may include, but are not limited to; short gags, ongoing storylines, or even one panel increments.
  • Drama:
These comics tend to be of a more serious nature, where the storyline is carried by a single, or a group of characters, who each struggle in some way; be it the result of a lone antagonist, or a sticky situation. Often times, Drama comics contain ample doses of romance gone bad, mystery and intrigue, or mad serial killers looking to start trouble!
  • Epic:
Epic comics have it all! Drama, romance, action, adventure... you name it! No one driving force is more abundant than the other. I'd go so far as to say that an Epic comic is like an Adventure comic on steroids. That doesn't mean it's inherently better; simply that it has too much going on in the plot, to really level it out in but a single primary category! An Epic comic is always an ongoing storyline with a dynamic plot, and more often than not, is of a serious nature and overall "feel".
  • Horror:
Horror comics often carry a supernatural sort of theme, complete with vampires, werewolves, aliens, monsters, or other such subject matter. These comics also tend to have a dire air to them; a feeling of impending doom! They are more often more serious than humorous, though both said elements may be present throughout the storyline.
  • Mystery:
These comics are often more macabre, or crime/noir than anything else. The plot is driven through psychologicial thrill and intrigue, taking you on a mental journey of a sorts, as you put the pieces together; reading between the lines to determine a possible outcome. Elements reveal themselves as the story progresses.
  • Resource:
The Resource category consists of comic sites that are not online comics, but resources for online comics, such as web directories, topsite lists, review sites, etc. Resources play a highly active role in a comic's reader base!
  • Weird:
Weird comics are off-the-wall, often times plotless reads, that make the reader go, "WTF" ...They range between humorous, to dark and serious. Sometimes these comics contain hidden meaning, leaving the reader to decipher what the author was really thinking, behind the production of his or her works...
